Flame-retardant materials

Antimony compounds are used in flame-retardant formulations for materials such as plastics and textiles.

02

Batteries & metal alloys

Antimony is used in some lead-acid batteries and to strengthen lead and other alloys.

03

Glass & ceramics

Antimony compounds also have applications in the manufacture of glass and ceramics.

ANTIMONY & GOLD

A geological connection.

The Beaver Brook deposit was discovered during regional gold exploration in 1989.

Antimony and gold can occur in related geological systems. Historical exploration has identified gold mineralization on the Beaver Brook property, reflecting this association in parts of central Newfoundland.

Beaver Brook’s mining history is centred on antimony. The presence of gold mineralization does not imply current gold production or establish a commercially recoverable gold resource.
